(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 17)--McKendree University senior forward
Nic Rolla (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) was among a group of nearly two dozen players that represented the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 3 Select Team during a holiday tour of Europe.
Rolla was one of two players chosen from the Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) to compete in the five-game exhibition tour that traveled through Germany, Slovenia and Austria. Players from across ACHA Division 3 were picked to compete in the tour, which was held over the Christmas/New Year's break. The ACHA sends a group of all-stars to play in the series every other year.
"This was a great opportunity for Nic," said McKendree hockey coach Bill Misiak. "I know he was honored to be just one of two players from our conference selected to head overseas, and he certainly performed well while he was over there. Nic has been a key part of our program for the last few years and we are honored also that he was picked not only to represent the ACHA and the USA, but McKendree University as well."
In five games, Rolla netted four goals, which was the second-highest total for the ACHA Division 3 squad. Rolla currently leads the McKendree squad in scoring, and was the Bearcats' leading scorer last season.
