(Mascoutah, Ill., Nov. 11)- Despite starting off the dual match down 6-0 due to a forfeit at 125 pounds, the No. 4 McKendree University wrestling team won all nine of their matches they wrestled to cruise to a 35-6 win over No. 18 Missouri Baptist University.

The Bearcats, 2-0 overall, travel to Evanston, Ill., on Saturday to compete in the Northwestern University Duals. McKendree will face University of Northern Iowa at noon, followed by University of Wisconsin-Whtewater at 2 p.m., and University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 4 p.m.

A forfeit at 125 pounds put the Bearcats down 6-0, but senior Wade Lowe (Godfrey, Ill., Alton) evened the score by pinning Anton Prater in 3:30. Junior Kyle Williams (Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Mascoutah) followed by earning a tech fall over Robert Nickson, 17-0, to give McKendree a 11-6 lead.

The Bearcats rattled off four consecutive decision victories at 149 through 165 pounds to extend their lead to 23-6 and senior Tanner Wolk (Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Ste. Genevieve) earned an impressive win by pinfall over Clayton Olsson in 42-seconds to push the lead to 29-6. McKendree closed out the dual with decision wins at 197 pounds and heavyweight to earn the 35-6 win.
